DragonBall Masters BT31 Card Analysis! [Releases 7/3/26!]

Set 4 Preview: Breaking Down the New Leaders in Impact Beyond Dimensions!

The countdown is almost over! On July 3rd, Impact Beyond Dimensions (BT31) officially hits shelves. This set marks a massive crossover, bringing original characters from Super Dragon Ball Heroes right into the Masters format alongside iconic movie fusions.

Today, we’re diving deep into the newly revealed Leaders to see how they will reshape the meta, what makes them tick, and where you should look for immediate synergy.

1. Son Goku & Vegeta // SS Gogeta, Situation Reversal Fusion (Red)

Fusion decks have historically suffered from a major structural issue: drawing the wrong half of your pieces or running out of steam before you can pull off your Union-Fusion. This new Red Gogeta Leader completely rewrites those rules.

Abilities

  • Unawakened Side: Has a built-in search mechanic. You can discard a card to look at your top 5 and grab a Red Saiyan. Crucially, it lets you awaken early (at 2 or more energy) if you have at least one Goku and one Vegeta card sitting in your Drop.

  • Awakened Side (SS Gogeta): It lets you use materials directly from your Drop Area or Battle Area and send them to the Warp to trigger the skills of your Red Veku or Gogeta cards.

Synergies & Strategy

  • Drop Area Value: You no longer need a massive hand to pull off multiple fusions. You can aggressively combo away your Goku and Vegeta pieces early on to defend yourself, knowing they double as fusion materials straight from the graveyard later.

  • Card Advantage: Because your fusions are fueled by the Drop, your hand stays massive. Pair this with standard Red aggro and the Janemba Saga support package inside BT31 for a hyper-consistent, explosive deck.

2. Janemba // Janemba, Blade of Hatred (Red)

If you prefer a trickier, high-risk/high-reward playstyle, the new Janemba Leader is built entirely around raw stat-reduction warfare.

The Breakdown

  • Unawakened Side: Focuses on standard Evil Incarnate searching, but offers a unique energy-untap mechanic upon awakening if you control a Red Z-Extra.

  • Awakened Side: It features a massive double edged sword: it completely negates the keyword skills of all your own Battle Cards (meaning no Deflect, Double Strike, etc. on your own stuff). In exchange, during the turn you play an Evil Incarnate card, any skill that reduces an opponent's card power or combo power is doubled.

Synergies & Strategy

  • The Power Drop Lock: Turning a standard "-15,000 power" debuff into a massive "-30,000 power" means you can instantly wipe out opposing boss monsters just by playing lower-cost support cards.

  • Combo Negation: Doubling the reduction of your opponent's combo power makes it nearly impossible for them to efficiently defend their life total when you start swinging. Look to pair this with aggressive Evil Incarnate battle cards that natively pack power-reduction skills to maximize the value of that doubled stat-drop.

3. Supreme Kai of Time: Aeos (Black)

Straight out of the Super Dragon Ball Heroes lore, Aeos makes her grand debut as a Black Leader, bringing premium dimensional control and deck manipulation to the table.

The Breakdown

  • The Core Theme: Aeos decks focus heavily on controlling the flow of resources and utilizing the Warp. As a Black Leader, she excels at playing around the "Warrior in Black" archetype and keeping your opponent’s board completely in check.

Synergies & Strategy

  • Black Toolboxing: She naturally synergizes with the new Heroes support package included in BT31. Look for Battle Cards that trigger unique effects when cards enter the Warp.

  • Gridlock Control: Aeos is looking to be a premier choice for mid-range and control players who love out-resourcing their opponent rather than rushing them down on Turn 3.

4. The Wildcards: Vegito (SSGSS Kaio-Ken) & Monaka Costume Beerus

Bandai didn't stop there. We are also getting a massive Black Vegito (SSGSS Kaio-Ken) archetype focused on massive high-power swings and robust defensive capabilities, alongside a hilarious and highly anticipated Beerus (Monaka Costume) Leader.

These Leaders provide excellent variety for the set:

  • Vegito appeals to players who want massive, game-ending Potara threats that dictate the pace of the battle phase.

  • Monaka Beerus brings that classic, quirky Dragon Ball flavor that is bound to have some hilarious rogue strategies attached to it.

Final Thoughts: Which Leader Wins Week 1?

Right now, Red SS Gogeta looks like an absolute frontrunner for the most competitive deck out of the gate simply because of how cleanly it fixes the card-economy issues of previous fusion decks. However, the sheer control potential of Aeos and the explosive math of Janemba mean the meta is going to be wildly unpredictable.
